Patient Education
Here is a snippet of some of the common disorders. The list is not exhaustive. We will continue to add on, as time goes.
Depression
Depression is a medical condition with extreme feelings of sadness and emptiness. When suffering from depression, people may lose interest in activities they once enjoyed, and experience a constant feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness. It may be triggered by certain events or occur along with other illnesses. It can interfere with work, sleep, appetite and interpersonal relationships. The good news it that, depression is treatable.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
GAD is a chronic condition, and not merely the normal stress and anxiety we experience about upcoming events such as a test or a job interview. This is rather a perpetual state of anxiety patients found hard to snap out of. As it progresses, GAD can ultimately interfere with relationships, work, and school. You don't have to live that way. Let us help.
Bipolar Disorder
Previously known as manic-depressive illness, is a complex psychiatric condition with sudden and drastic mood swings. May last hours, days, weeks or even months, sometimes leading to dangerously impulsive or self-destructive behaviors or to a deep depression. If you are not too sure, please get a professional opinion.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
This is a psychiatric condition triggered by a traumatic event during which great physical harm occurs or is threatened. The feelings of helplessness may subside overtime in some individuals than others. Symptoms may appear later, last longer and be much more, none of which is under the individual's control.
